Aptis ESOL is a modern and flexible English
proficiency test, developed by British Council
language assessment experts. It tests language
ability in all four language skills – speaking,
listening, reading, and writing across all levels of
the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
Aptis ESOL is a computer-based test with an
innovative marking system. The productive skills of
speaking and writing are marked by trained examiners
as the tasks are authentic and communicative in
nature. The reading and listening skills are scored
automatically. Results are presented as both a
numerical and a CEFR score and are available in 48
hours.
By providing an accurate measure of English
proficiency, Aptis ESOL enables more informed
decision-making about language training,
benchmarking, recruitment and verification of
individuals’ language levels.
Aptis ESOL is used by a variety of organisations
like universities, schools and governments in more
than 85 countries. Aptis ESOL, alongside Aptis, is
also recognised as a valid proof of English
proficiency by ministries, educational institutions,
and regional government bodies across the world.
